Hey,

Now i know that this is a popular question to be asked, but...
I have tried almost all the different combinations to reprogram my keyfob, since i changed the batteries, but nothing seems to work.

I have even unpluged the alarm module because they are apparently prone to static build up!

I have a mondeo 1.8 (97).

Can anybody help me please?

Regards
Cokey

I'm very sorry that I have no anwer to your question as this problem is keeping me awake for weeks now... I went to a FordSpecialist (live in NL) and he checked everything including some new remotes but my car wont accept anything. The only thing he said to me what I did not try was putting the contact ON and OFF after unplugging the cables to the remote receiver box and then reconnect them. Sometimes that would do the trick - but I'm sure I don't believe in it anymore. I'm wondering if I need to buy me a new remote receiver box...Goodluck to both of us...:|

Mk1 IR - Turn Key to Pos I , wait for LED to light constant, aim the remote at the sensor in the front door, drivers or passengers, hold down top fob button and then press bottom, release both buttons, fob will flash as should the LED on the clock

Turn Ignition to POS II and then off to exit

Mk2 RF - Turn key in ignition 4 times in quick succession, going to POS II on each occasion. Wait for LED to light constant then press a button on Keyfob, clock will flash. if you have an additional remote then press a button on that one also, clock will flash. turn ignition on then off to exit.

Thanks guys for all of your help.

I have been to the mirez site and tried all combinations.
The problem seems to be, when the key is turned to pos 1, the led does not stay on constant. The key does flash 4 times when i hold the top bottom and press the other button a few times. But as the car is not in 'program' mode this is pointless.
I have tried turning the key from pos 2 to pos 3 several times as well, but to no avail.

It worked fine before the batteries died, this is really annoying as I have to use the key to open the doors! :D

Any body got any bright ideas!

Thanks again :)

What exactly is it that is the problem. Is it that your key does not open the doors with the button. The same thing happend to me and I also lent the same advice to other members form here which it turned out to work.

What you will need to do is disconnect your FUSE from under the glovebox that is in the circuit for the Central Locking. Then replace it (thus checking that the fuse is still OK). Once replacing it the C/L should make a noise as if it was triggered. Next thing to do is try your Key Fob which probably does not need reprogramming as you have tried many times.
Let us know if it works, I hope it does and you will be using the buttons all the time to open and lock the car. :)

Maybe someone could help me out - did all the tricks from Mirez and other ones I found. My Mondeo will go in program mode (the led stays on for 10 secs) but my key is not accepted. Went to a dealer who tried two other keys but the car will not accept anything. Have had the batterie loose for 20 mins, have taken the fuse out and have had all the cables out of the CL module - still the same problem.
When I unplug the fuse and put it back I dont hear any click (but my CL is operating as normal).

Ford suggests replacing the module (€ 180) but I'm not confident that will do the trick...

Also I located the antenna but it doesnt seem to make contact with the module - Should that be put in somewhere?

Well - thanks in advance for any ideas...
