The heater and fan are both working but they aren't blowing very hard (even on level 4) and not really hot. The air through the vents is practically non-existent.

Any clues?

Are all 4 blower speeds working as advertised?

They certainly are - everything is working as usual, just at half power/speed!

I noticed that last night the fan seemed to speed up when I revved the engine stuck in a queue - this pointing to anything?

Could be time for a new pollen filter. About £15 from Ford. You can find the old one, on the outside of the car, under the plastic grill, just below the windscreen, passenger side.

Cool - I know exactly where it is as I checked it for water leaks a few months back! Will it show signs of wear or tell-tale signs that it needs changing?

I think it needs doing every 2 years or so, mine was black when I did it, looked like the last owner had never done it, will need doing again in June next year.

Cheers mate - judging by the state of the rest of my car when I got it, the last owner was not very kind... :}

If the filter is wet, then its likely that no airflow will get through to it at all - and if its cacked in crap too then there is no chance :} . Quick way of checking is to put it on recirc air where it should be strong because it doesnt go through the filter.

I went to Halfords for a replacement pollen filter for mine the other day, cost just under £8 :L

Good tip that - you're quite right, the fan is much better when on recirculation. Got a new pollen filter and fitting it this week.

Thanks for your help guys.
