you'll have to remove the pump to check it's not blocked

if you are sourcing a replacement pump, you also need to make sure it's got the same connectors as preface and facelift used different shaped plugs on the same motor body

it's very difficult though so make sure you can get i high enough in the air, you may need to remove bits of trim to get it it underneath the car too as was the case with mine, i eventually had to remove the bumper too ;(

How have you got your test lamp connected... and is it a tungsten bulb or an led.
Do you have a multimeter you can use instead?
You should connect the test lamp to both sides of the plug at the same time.

Its possible to get a voltage that is not powerful enough to activate the pump.

I was testing some towbar wiring some years back, LED tester showed the cars

electrics all good and it showed the caravan electrics all good but still no brake

Turned out the 12v detected on the brake wire dropped to just to almost nothing when

the brakes were applied.

Stripped the brake connection off in the boot and made a better connection and it was

all good.

Check the voltage when the pump is activated.  Also its possible for the pump to spin and

no water comes out. Could be a blocked filter or just a failed pump.
