There is a rattle on start up and whilst driving, too cold to investigate snow here,

Hoping its a pulley and not something major on this 3 cylinder engine.

My mates Fiesta 2016 front washer is dead when operating stalk but when

pulling up the stalk rear works fine.

Swapped the front and rear tubes around and he now has front wash but not rear

whilst waiting for a new pump.

Is there a built in relay in the pump motor or two seperate motors.

I was called out to a same problem with the same year fiesta, it was the stalk itself, the push switch fails, if you're pretty aggressive with it you can get them to work but the permanent fix would be another complete stalk

Well last night discovered reversing lights do not come on, checked bulbs and fuse no.3 7.5a ok, handbook says R12 for switched circuit Reversing lamp but the port is not used.

That leaves gear lever switch if i can find it and circuit wiring, wish me luck.

Had a little oil leaking from the manual gearbox reverse switch so was looking for the refill plug on the gearbox 5 speed B5/IB5,cannot find it online, all i can see is the removal of the switch to fill, anyone point me to where fill plug is thank you.

no the level/fill plug will be an allen key hex to remove (or they were on the Escorts with the IB5 box) and (again with escorts as i saw so many) they were, when viewed from the fromnt of the car, to the right (ie towards the left ffront wheel) of the reverse light switch, and were a little awkward to undo with some tools as part of the front gearbox mounted engine mount got in the way, from memory (its been a VERY long time since ive seen one now)

the original Puma used an IB5 box so should be similar. the wire goes to the reverse light switch, the hex key thing to the right as we look at it (black coloured bung) at a similar level to the rev. light switch is the filler plug (theres an arrow pointing at it in this pic, borrowed from another website) from memory they should be just a tad below that level. we used to 'dip' the opil with the end of a cable tie (i used to keep offcuts for this very purpose back in the day when people used to cable tie wheeltrims on etc)

Reverse switch is in 5 minutes job got to be gentle with this gold one hand tight and a touch with the open ended spanner, the cheapy switch would not screw in with fingers so used a long impact socket on a ratchet.

Threads look really crap. Is the part aluminium or cheap pot metal?
