Hi,

I have discovered my boot is leaking in Ford Mondeo TDCi 2008. I have located where the water is coming in but cannot figure out how to stop it.

I ran water down the channel of where the boots shuts and it doesn't leak. I close the boot and pour water down the channel and it starts to leak. I siliconed around the grommet of where the electric cable goes into thinking I had solved it, but still leaks. Hopefully the attached photo below may help.

I literally can't see any other places where the water can get it in.

Any suggestions would be great, thank you.

If you can reproduce the leak by pouring water down the channel thats part of the

battle.

Get some absorbant tissue and tape it on the inside of the boot area and

see which parts get wet and which stay dry.

Try pouring the water low down and then work your way up higher until

the tissue starts to get we. A helper or removing the side trims maybe

required.

I've had exactly the same problem but on the other side. It took me ages to determine where the leak was and it was only when I removed the large black plastic fitting that the hatchback cover sits on, that I could see it was coming from the rear washer seal.
It cured that, but today I noticed it's still damp running front to back just to the right of the wheel well so I've stripped it all back again and took the boot carpet out incase that was wet.
I know it's not come from top or any seals because it's all covered in talcum powder.
If you feel brave enough to do this, let me know and I'll tell you how to get to it.
