Hi last wk my alternator failed, replaced it at the wkend, charged battery, car started ok abd drove fine.
This morning battery flat cat would turnover but very slowly.
Jump lead started off sons car.
Gear stick wouldn't come out of park, looked up on www and found the manual release, so drive it up the road and it doesn't change up after about 50mph, goes upto 3rd gear ok then no further.
I've had not trouble with this car until the alternator failed last Wed.
Any ideas what I need to look at?
Thank you

Try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and check you got all the

wires to the alternator and the belt is tight/centred and not slipping.

Give the battery a good charge before reconnecting if you can.

Thank for your help. Had a new battery, all codes cleared and everything OK. Mechanic said the bad battery had messed up the gearbox.
