The lower weather strips on both sides are broken, the rubber is in pieces partnumber is 1230006. The parts are expensive for something stupid. Can I replace it with something else?

£58 at U.K. prices isn’t too bad for a new genuine part.

If you want to save money just buy a pair of second hand ones. It’s not that common for the seals to fail, so it should be easy to get some in good condition.

You'll also need new fittings as the old ones break when you remove the strip

How do you remove the strip?

I remove them without breaking the push in fixings.

I slide the strip forwards to clear the rearmost fixing, then slide them off rearwards.

Firstly, I didn't know how they were attached or what was attaching them. By the time I'd found out, they all needed replacing!
