Hey guys,
I have a weird problem with my 2010 Mondeo it’s been left a while and possibly had the key in it left (I say this because it may be relevant) the key fob will lock via the fob so don’t think it’s a fob battery issue. But as soon as I put it in the barrel it’s goes mad!!! Engine Malfunction flashes and immobiliser active. So I’m assuming it’s that, that isn’t allowing it to start. However it won’t let me plug any forscan or any reader tools in as every software is saying the key isn’t plugged in when it is!! Is there anyway to re sync the immobiliser or connect it again or does anyone know any tricks or had a similar problems. I’m aware vaguely of the turn key procedure but I’ve forgotten it or even if that will solve it.
Thanks in advance

As above, I would say charge the battery first and go from there.

Possibly the ingnition switch not the key barrel but the 4 spade pin switch
