Hi,

07 Fusion, just the other day noticed the door won't close properly and stay closed. On closer inspection, I can operate the latch manually but there is no real spring compared to the passenger door (much less usage in its life?) and the door will not stay closed. The door will just about sit half-closed but I can pull it open easily.

I'm guessing I need a new driver's door lock mechanism due to wear? £232 quote from local Ford garage, yes that's right.

Am I missing something simple I could be doing to fix this?

Are the door locks with any other doors (Fusion) or any other Fords (Fiesta etc..) interchangeable, to make it easier to source via scrappy etc.. - or must if be a driver's door unit from a Fusion?

TIA
Brian

Broken spring or not lubricated properly?

Fusion is essentially a Fiesta.

Lubrication fine. Unsure if it's a broken spring or some other wear/break, I suspect wear as the door retention half (1/4) works.

Can anyone confirm this is the same part as a Fiesta - I can source a Fiesta driver door lock mechanism ok, but specifically the Fusion seems very rare. If they are the same, then great.

TIA
Brian
