hi and good day to everyone.

my mondeo mk4 2.0 ecoboost make whining/whistling noise when accelarate. it can be heard around ~2k rpm.

however, i cant hear it when in high speed or maybe the noise is drown out by engine noise.

is it because of worn out turbo or something else..

you can hear it from the video

Is it only when driving or can you get the noise by revving when parked?

Is the stereo on? Noisy alternator whine coming through the speakers?

when i rev in P or N it also make the noise,,,just like the turbo a bit noisy..in that video the stereo is off..but the noise is more noticeable when driving in low speed around 2k rpm.im guesssing worn out turbo..i already check the hoses,,everything seem fine

Could be a split pipe on the intake, somewhere between the air filter and turbo or more likely between turbo and engine.

I had a similar problem from my Ecoboost 1.6

I tightened up all the jubilee clips on the air intake hoses from the air filter box through to the back of the engine. Check also that the air filter top is tightened down and that the air filter is sitting correctly in the housing.

The whistling disappeared and fuel economy improved to 52 mpg on a good long run at 60 mph.
