Having just spent most of this afternoon and evening reading posts on here and other ford forums about PAS fluid I have a major headache!!!
It would appear that most posts say the facelift mondy uses M2C-204 (green) fluid
and pre facelift seem to use the M2C-195 (red) fluid
My mondy is 06 model, built jan 06 and registered march 06 making it a facelift model,
now, steering has been getting heavier over the last 12 months so decided to change fluid, and seeing all the inconsistent posts about which is correct or not, knowing that my fluid is very dark and unrecognisable in colour I dipped the reservoir with clean white tissue paper and over the course of it drying it has turned a reddy brown colour.
In my eyes this was obviously the M2C-195 (red) fluid so,
Has the wrong fluid been put in during one of its ford dealer services? between 2010-2016 (I started my own servicing at 100,000 miles)
If so this has not caused any issues between then and now.
I have gone through all the dealer receipts and not found any that state PAS fluid has been changed, is it part of service schedule?
I have never had the owners manual since purchase to cross reference correct spec fluid.
could my car have an older system fitted that uses the red fluid? (as I believe these cars were assembled in 4 different countries)
when I change it should I just put in the same red fluid or flush it and refill with the green?
and this is my conundrum.
any views or comments greatly welcomed.
