It will be interesting to see if the new ugly Mondy is any good.

The news of its arrival has been around for some time. but I haven’t heard much info on it.

Ford have no interest in regular cars anymore, the joke of a car that is the mk4 Focus brought this fact home to me very loud and clear.

You can put your vehicle info at the bottom of your posts to give details to help others know what you drive :)

I note that if you go onto the official Ford uk website into the "Build A Car" section you can specify a Mondeo eco blu diesel with an 8 speed automatic - (same in S Max) this will be another derivative of Ford usa torque converter type 6F35 mid range unit.

If they did it with a 2.3 petrol version I would be in the running!

If this is how the "Mondeo" will look, I don't think it's too bad considering what else is out there.

I thought the few people who bought Mondeos now did so because they didn't want a crossover.

Crossovers are so badly suited to my needs, I'd rather just keep my 16 year old Mk3 than give it up for any new crossover. Even if it was free.

When do you anticipate changing your car?
What will you replace it with?

Just going to keep running it.

I've had 4 other cars since, but I've kept the Mondeo because it's the only one I've been able to rely on. It doesn't drink excessively, it can carry just about anything I could need it to, Parts are cheap and it's easy to fix on the rare occasion there is a problem. It's also decent enough on longer journeys, and is capable of handling the crappy local roads even better. No matter what drastic changes have happened in my life, it's always been up to the task.

Even major mechanical failures aren't a worry. I can completely replace the engine for under the cost of another car, all while upgrading the engine at the same time :)

If it got written off, I don't know what I'd replace it with. Depends on what's around. At the moment it would probably be a Mk4 Fiesta that's sort of lying around.
