I have a 2004 Mondeo 2l diesel 130bhp that needs a turbo, are all the mk3 turbos the same or would it have to come out of another 130bhp?

Not sure if the turbo with electronic actuator had the same actuator arm as the one with vacuum actuator, and if they're interchangeable, hopefully someone else on here might know.

Fixed vane turbo's have a wastegate instead of variable vanes. The actuator for the wastegate
goes across the car left/right where the variable vane turbo has teh actuator front/back
positioning.
Those small arms in the picture actuate the vanes on the other side. Whilst its apart
make sure that is spotless, you dont want to do all that work and have the vanes
sticking afterwards. The vanes are on the rear, 3 small torq bolts which can be
super tight, I found 2 easy and one would not budge until i heated it.
Be careful with the 3 small wheels on the inside and the pins they can fall out.
Variable vane actuator controlled turbo. Upto 2004, From late 2003 they changed
to the electronic actuator but actual dates vary.

Yes that is the variable vane turbo.
It would be a worthwhile cleaning that up whilst its apart. You may find 2 bolts are easy
to remove but one will be super tight. I had that issue and it has been mentioned by
others also.

I can get a turbo with with electronic actuator but mine has a vacuum actuator, is it possible to change the vaccum actuator and use the old one from my original turbo?

You can but you need to tinker to get it just right, there is no shortage of vacuum
turbo's so best to get the right one.
The electronic actuator wont have a stop screw etc also. As I said ive done it but
my sister had no money to buy one and i had this one sitting here all cleaned and
ready to go.
Been a while but i thinkI had to swap the housing and add the stop screw which is
needed to prevent damage to the vacuum actuator.
