There isn’t any on the pipe it’s all in the fitting

So, is the pipe just a plain end, so it pushes into the fitting, just like a Speedfit or pushfit plumbing connector?

Yeah the connector is a one time use only there is a copper snap ring in the bottom of the connector and a rubber seal at the top of it. Hence why they don’t like being undone.

You did some accurate work cutting thro' that top gland nut without harming the pipe!
