I need to test fuel pressure. Bought a cheap and cheerful fuel pressure testing kit off amazon which had several adapters, but none of them fit the schrader valve on the fuel rail (which was too small for all of them) so I sent the stupid sodding thing back for a refund, but now of course I need to buy a kit again.

If anyone could tell me exactly what the size/spec for the valve is I'd appreciate it as I can't seem to find this info anywhere online. Even the haynes manual unhelpfully doesn't bother to tell you what size it is. Better yet, if anyone's bought a kit themselves that they've successfully used on this engine's fuel rail perhaps you could tell me what it was.

Thought the schrader valve was fairly standard?  If you put that into the ebay

search it should bring up the right units. Although you maybe able to get the

same unit cheaper from listings that do not mention it.

Try with and then without to compare kits/prices.

By standard do you mean the same as a car tyre valve?

Ford to be different from GM use a different thread size. You need to purchase a FP kit that explicitly states that it includes the "Ford Adapter". I use the Actron CP7838 FP Tester kit which includes the Ford adapter. Actron Tools were bought by Bosch some time ago.
