[mondy zetecs]

Looking to axle stand mine today but rain is forecast. After checking all four corners everything seems tight so can't find knocks, probably because not changing parts in pairs, so changing what I can now. Annoying thing is been sent a Boge strut though same company as Sachs and owned by ZF so won't get a pair match up on same axle and can't be bothered to return it.

Nice looking car, hope it fulfils your needs.
I’m going to stick with the Mondy, still needs work, a lot of work and at times will require axle stands !
I have this sort of passion, same as my my brother Macmondy, to keep these cars on the road.
Don’t leave this forum as we still need your advice and knowledge.

Still can't think of what to do with the mondeo just yet, need to build some trust with the audi yet.
I would like to sell it whole to keep it on the road but if I break it I'll be keeping various other mondeos on the road.

I'll still be knocking around the forum (mainly because it's my homepage 😂) maybe in time I'll revert back to Ford but we've got to explore different paths.

So it's been a few days using the Audi, so far so good. Extremely different to driving the mondeo, especially response. As soon as I put the foot down in the mondeo its gone, in the audi its nothing, nothing, something then everything. So I may need a dpf delete and remap to help sort that out. I'm having a few gremlins with lights at the moment. The adjusters for the headlights isn't working after having the battery off.
So to conclude..... I'm still not a changed man

So far I've not touched it lol hardly even thought about it. My dad may possibly use it for a few weeks but then I think I'll break it. You after anything?

The thread on the plastic 3D bonnet rod got me wondering if a cheap aluminium one

could be fitted without dismantling anything.

 

Easier if i had the actual lock rather than just the rod though.

I wouldn’t have any use for the printed bonnet opener, but have been thinking about one in metal too.

Obviously the ideal solution may be to print the oval part the badge sits on as part of the mechanism, but the backing piece for the badge is ABS so a rod could be fixed to it using solvent weld.

 

The metal parts could then be fixed to the ABS stub rod.

I wa thinking make the rod in 2 parts where you could snap the plastic rod out and

just slide the new on in and tighten a screw to lock it into place?

 

Maybe a small spring inside so it self adjusts, not trying to hold it into place as you

tighten it?

 

Does the plastic cam on the side of some rods actually do anything?

What exhaust system have you got on it ?

I’m particularly interested in the rear section. I have no mid box, but there is a box before the pointed downwards tailpipe. I want another rear section without the box and a straight tailpipe, yea, the last on my list is to have a straight through from the cat. I’ve seen these on e bay for about £40, but am a bit sceptical.

I also like the twin exhaust for looks, but realise the more efficient system is a single straight through.🙄

You need to leave either the Cat or one exhaust box.

 

Long time ago when the site had rolling road sessions one guy had a straight

through pipe all the way and it was down on power compared to everything

else, even non modded cars.

 

A properly designed exhaust can produce more power than a straight through

system. Sounds mad but its been tried and tested.
