My MK1 will happily blow AC cold air if the car starts cold. Will do a whole journey blowing cold. As soon as I stop the car however and restart it it'll only blow hot. And I mean hot!

I know about the heater valve trouble in these but I'm not sure why it would blow cold for a journey then only hot. Literally as soon as I stop and restart the engine it's on hot.

Anyone got any ideas?

I have the same issue too. I have replaced the heater control valve, thermostat, coolant sensor and even the dials. I am puzzled
Would like to find the cure
