Hi have a 2016 2.0 tdci just touching 60k having problem with it overheating had it on live data thermostat temp sensor doing what it should, car can sit idling for couple of hours doesn't over heat then take it for a run after maybe 3 miles temp shoots up in a second overheat warning comes up stop for a moment comes back down. First thought thermostat renewed it made no difference then thought maybe a blockage in rad checked with hose running clear beginning to think water pump isn't good enough under load also no hot air in cab anyone any ideas

Have you checked that the electric radiator / grill flaps are opening as they should?

Hi , the water pump impeller had come loose on the back of the pump, at two years old!!!. It had made in Italy all over it, poor quality, all fixed now

Hi Richard, welcome to the forum

Sincere thanks for coming back and advising what the problem was - very useful information

It would be brilliant if more posters did come back with info as to what the problem was, thanks again
