After doing some checking - it's clear that these lock nuts are NOT Ny-lock Nuts.

 

They utilise a different system - that is specifically chosen for 'high vibration' joints.

 

It looks like a metal insert is used instead of a nylon collar:

Correction:

 

Bolt - is similar - although part number is incorrect.

 

Nut - Insert might be metal - or something else. Unsure what it is.

Well, if it's ok for Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes to use various size nyloc nuts on their suspension arm fittings etc then it is good enough for me.

 

Observation - the original Ford nut is welded to the susp arm so it does not need to be a "locknut" - just a spring washer under the bolt head itself

 

If you use an exact Ford original spec nut you will have to weld it to the arm - yes, ha ha
