Again! Third replacement in ? 80000 miles!
You can see it wobbling...
Couple mm off centre.
Need to drive few hundred miles. ( 800? ) Before I can get it fixed
What's the risk of it just letting go, complete failure?
Will I ( I think I will!) Get any warning?
I'm assuming it will not damage engine if/ when it does fail?
The crank pulley runs mighty close to the timing cover, and I'm sure at least one person has commented that it can eat its way into this when it fails.
I think it's one of those things where you really do get what you pay for. I fitted the upgraded Jag pulley kit several years ago and (touching wood) I've never had a problem since.
Mine was embarrassing it was that bad at idle, even a throttle blip didn't stop it but it never failed I think you'll be absolutely fine doing your journey
Crank pulley replaced ( for 3rd time in 90k miles...
I'm still rolling along...
