Again! Third replacement in ? 80000 miles!
You can see it wobbling...
Couple mm off centre.
Need to drive few hundred miles. ( 800? ) Before I can get it fixed

What's the risk of it just letting go, complete failure?
Will I ( I think I will!) Get any warning?

I'm assuming it will not damage engine if/ when it does fail?

The crank pulley runs mighty close to the timing cover, and I'm sure at least one person has commented that it can eat its way into this when it fails.

I think it's one of those things where you really do get what you pay for. I fitted the upgraded Jag pulley kit several years ago and (touching wood) I've never had a problem since.

Hi

Pulley shakes the worst at very low revs. Not usually while driving at speed.

Mine's lasted 17 years and 309kmiles, I think when it's time to replace it, I'll get another OEM one.

Mine was embarrassing it was that bad at idle, even a throttle blip didn't stop it but it never failed I think you'll be absolutely fine doing your journey

Well - it was sweet as a nut for my trip to Headingley - And we won!! and I sold spare ticket to a lovely Aussie for full price!

what a day/ match - Stoked!

Next trip - Edinburgh.

Some strange noises - nothing too worrying. Engine smooth as - Pulling like a goodun.

CV joint (?) noise when I turn left ( only after driving 5 mins) , Crank pulley wobbling... "one wheel on my wagon, but I'm still rolling along ;-))

Better watch out for those pesky Cherokees then :)

How do I check CV joint.

I think I remember turning at low speed on full lock and listening for tell tail " cracks"!?

At the moment the symptoms are intermittent thudding noises, with any left turn pressure on steering wheel, sometimes not before driving for 5 mins...
