Couple of years ago my lovely Mrs arranged a track experience at Goodwood where I got to take a 1967 GT500 around the track -

Well, yesterday she treated me again but at Bovington, yes where the tanks go but in these wee beasties instead

The GT500 this time is a 2008 Shelby GT500 with a 5.0L V8 chucking out 420 bhp & 631 lb. -ft.

0 - 60mph in 3.5 Seconds and would go onto 202 mph with enough straight and a nutter behind the wheel.

The Dodge is a 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat with a Twin Supercharged 6.2L V8 making a measly 707 bhp & 650 lb. -ft.

0 - 62mph in 5.2 Seconds and a top speed of 199 mph.

The Mustang was an awesome car, though a tad larger than I'd like to live with, and left hand drive but it kept up well with a Lamborghini Huracan LP580-2 on the corners and only loosing a bit of ground on the straights, but the Hellcat was a BEAST. Still a lard arse and left hand drive but also had a very soft suspension for it's weight so any bumps would loosen it right up making corners a bit of a handful but opening it up on the straights had me buried in the seat.

Still waiting for the videos to come through but will add links when they do, unless they're too embarrassing :whistling:

And the Hellcat, though nowhere near as good as they got the cameras the wrong way round in my opinion -

Good value or its a treat so cost is less important?

Mentioned something similar for my daughter but she wants a landrover and

go offroading. We used to do that a lot when she was younger.

Good to see you having a bit of fun Man...you deserve it!...Your daughter sounds just like mine...mad about off-roading!...She really misses the old Landrover but after 2 skims on a K series engine, last summer took the final toll....Who knows...I might win lottery & treat us to 2 new Landrovers to play with!!! (If only)....Anyhoooz....sent u a pm & Fondest Regards.....

Had a few Range Rovers and they have not been the most reliable cars. LPG'd

one and it did around 9MPG on LPG.... Imagine 1000+ miles towing a caravan around

Cornwall at 9MPG. {{{{eeekkk}}}}. I must have been mad

Mate bought a Discovery, not that old and he was forever fixing it.

Whole day was a treat from the Mrs, but nothing wrong with getting a bargain at the same time :L

Friend of mine also like's those off roading experiences, he's gone as a driver and then as a passenger when his Mrs wanted to do it. Can't say it's my cup of tea though, bit too much of a speed junkie :driving:

If it makes you feel any better, the Hellcat was averaging 7mpg :eek13:

Re-uploaded the Hellcat video with a bit of an edit, quality is a little poorer but the cameras are the right way round at least -
