Hello everyone,

 

I own a Ford Ka 2006 1.3i (70hp). When I start the car, sometimes the engine will sound like there is bashing but could also be hard vibrations which vibrate across the car; if I continue driving an engine light appears and from my code reader, it says cylinder 2 misfire.

 

However, if I stop the engine and start it a couple of times, the issue can go away and then the car drives normally again.

 

I have recently installed new spark plugs and HT leads, aswell as a new battery. I took the spark plugs out today and they had a slight coating in grease or oil, making me believe the engine is running rich. But I have no idea what could cause this. Any help would be really appreicated!

Covered on grease/oil on the pins or also on the shaft?

 

Oil seeping onto the plugs/leads and running down as you remove them?

 

Plugs gapped properly?  Coil issues?  Air leak?

If you inspect the spark plugs, can you see any black carbon lines down the ceramic white of the plug?
