Too many years in AOL chat rooms, with shortened words and American spelling,

chatting to people that made me wonder how they manage to sign their own name

or get their password right to login.

Yeah, it was mad at one point, busy rooms had to have sub rooms due to the number of people on it.

I remember ending up in chat room No 4.  Forget how many were allowed in a room 30 or so?

 

They paid for my internet for many years and even my first broadband installation. Back when BT

had to visit and fit a splitter box.

 

Then it seemed to attract a load of trouble makers, who kept trying to boot people and just 

stirred trouble.  All downhill when they sold out to carphone warehouse.

 

Makes me smile when people rave about facebook and I think err we had that and more from 

back in 1996.

 

Email, instant messaging (also with video) anyone around the world, your own webspace when

your simple AOL webpage got high on google results if not the top.

 

You may remember yahoo auctions also?  Better than ebay..
