Hi guys,

I need some help/info. What way does the water pump run,is it clockwise or anti-clockwise.
At the minute it’s running anti-clockwise,but I want to remove the power steering air con and alternator and just run one belt from the crank to water pump, but if I do that the pump will run clockwise. Is their any differences in it running clockwise or anti-clockwise.

If someone could help me and guide me on the right direction that would be awesome.

Cheers

Why would you want to remove the power steering? let alone the rest of the things you mention

Sorry I forgot to mention that it’s for my race car so I’m in no need of it to be honest with you. So I’m looking to lose weight and just run the crank and water pump to take pressure off the engine.

I would suggest you get some professional advice on what you intend especially with removing power steering.

Only commenting re the water pump, I think you will find the vanes on the impeller are "angled" to pump the coolant correctly only when the pump turns anti clockwise. I maybe wrong, but something you need to investigate by say comparing them with a pump that operates in a clockwise direction.

Any chance an impeller that turns clockwise, off another small engine Ford pump, will fit yours.

Do all the Zetecs run anticlockwise, or only ones in your type/spec of veh. If any run clockwise, use one of those?

Yes most zetec blacktops run anti-clockwise. Is their an impeller from another ford that would fit mine to make it go clockwise.
