I've had this issue for months now. After a a long run at 70mph (ish) and stopping at traffic lights or a built up area my car smokes like crazy from the engine bay. I presume it's a dpf regen. Why the heck is it smoking from behind the engine tho? Here is a link to a video I took today. This is with the engine off. It was a whole lot worse with the engine running!!

It may be the crankcase venting excess fumes that have built up over the long drive if those engines do that...
It may be an oil or coolant leak on the back of the engine somewhere.
If you've had the vehicle long enough are you using more oil or other fluid than usual? Does it actually smell like smoke? Has it always done this under the exact same circumstances?

I believe it's the flexible pipe... there is a TSB available.
