Hello, I need to change my ECU and neither this car or its parts are very common in my country, so, I want to know what ECU's could be compatible with mine. The code is 93BB-12A650-BC, I know 12A650 is just the number of the part that ford uses, what I don't know it's if the car would be compatible with a ECU that has a code with something like: F5FF-12A650-BC (having all the same but the prefix) or with a 93BB-12A650-UA (having all the same but the suffix). Greetings.

I presume your car is a 2.0 ghia automatic, from the ecu part number?

Unfortunately, I think you might need the correct ecu, with a matching part number, or similar 'spec' one.

Anything before about 1997 will be the silvertop engine (aluminium camshaft cover), after that they are blacktops (black plastic camshaft cover), which i don't think will be compatible with the earlier version of the engine.

This link shows all the ecu's and their applications:
