Once the car (TDCI 2.0 180) is warm it sounds noisy at idle and there is a noticeable vibration felt through the car.

Cold seems fine and the rev counter doesn't seem to be varying much trying to adjust. When it's doing it, add some rev to just above 1K and the noise and vibration disappear largely.

Anyone any experience of this?

All my TDCI were doing the same thing (MK3, Mk4, Mk5 and Focus MK3). As the dealer told me: turn up the radio volume and get used to it! :)  I do not even notice the vibration anymore. However, when the care was new there was no vibration. It appears after a while ...

No - this is my forth diesel and I've never felt like I'm being gently rocked before!
