Hi everyone,

I've made an account here just for this post :)) I see no one ever updated this.

I have mine leaking in the same place, starting from the place RatMondeo pointed.

Have any of you guys ever solved it?

Thanks

I've not fixed mine. I thought it wasn't too bad and didn't want to disturb the fuel line connections again (workshop manual suggest replacing fuel lines if disconnected).

I decided if I were to try again I'd replace the gasket the same as
before but use some locktite gasket sealer as well.

Squirt said it was a likely culprit.

At one point I wondered if leaky transmission input oil seal might be throwing oil up there....

Not using the car as much lately.

Don't think the oil could go that high up the back of the engine.

I think I'll leave mine alone as well. I don't even have to top up the oil between changes.

And I'm guessing it's been leaking like that for years.

At least the back of the engine won't rust now :)))

I'm pretty paranoid about having the car in perfect shape and never liked the look of that oil sweat.

But never found anyone else that fixed it.

I had way worse leaking diesels than this. And I think I'll just give myself more trouble trying to fix it.

Thanks for the info

Just a correction to my previous post:

I was thinking of the transmission output shaft seal, not the input.
The output shaft could fling oil off, but of course it would smell as bad as the transmission fluid does!

A specialist advised using loctite 518, an anaerobic (like superglue)
sealant as a thin dressing to the compression gasket.

The engine does not need oil top ups at all, so I got used to it not being perfect.

It would be helpful if anyone does fix this leak if they let us know how..
