I take it from all of this that the majority of UK dealerships pay no attention to PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) procedures - or is that another thing of the past?

 

My supplying dealer said there wasn't anything in the PDI for the lights set up.

You'd hope now with the queries that they'll tighten up

My PDI was that good I was in another dealership after 100 miles asking why my wiring loom to drivers door was hanging off with no boot over it!

Basically - badly trained muppets!

I noticed on fog with Auto setting, that my headlights were off. i noticed because i could not open the fog lights. 

had to switch to normal/manual mode and then switch fog lights manually.

 

no wonder no one could see me on take overs...

Well, that is interesting. Just had few emails with my dealer. Here's some feedback:

My Ford contact has confirmed the positioning of the subwoofer to be correct and as per the image. But they are concealed on the vehicle, so not visible.

 

And yes, the lights will adjust on RHT, and the wipers will stop mid way if turned off mid operation. So you would need to allow time to fully drop to the starting position.

So just to confirm regarding the lights:

 

·         When I set to RHT while I am in UK – Lights will be pointed down, in order not no blind the upcoming traffic

·         If I am in Calais and set the lights to the RHT – the height will be correct. However it should be lowered on LHT setting

 

Is this correct?

Yes,

 

When in the UK on RHT the car won’t be picking up the correct surroundings, as you’ll be on the left, where as in Calais, you’ll be on the right, so will correct accordingly

So, it has to auto correct the height.

Ok, so back to topic.

 

a) Nope, in the continent, lights after I set them to RHT, are dipped too low. So - useless. So - HUGE dissapointment!

contacted dealership regarding this. So the dealer rep, who previously confirmed, that it SHOULD be OK in the continent, promissed to forward the message to FORD with the inquiry regarding the lights.
