I have a 2011 2.0 tdci 140hp with powershift, bought ut about 3 months ago, after 2 months my girlfriend call me saying it stands transmission limited function on the display! Told her to switch it off and start again but it did not help!
I went and pick the car up noticing the reverse was gone and so was 3gears forward!
Went directly to Ford to check fault-codes, erased the code and went home with the car no problems.
Next day the problem came back!
And no gear goes in? Took it to Ford and they say change gearbox!
The gearbox was changed nearly a year ago on warranty, but ford says no warranty on parts changed on warranty!?!
Took the car home on trailer and took down the mechatronic unit, there was alot of small plastic-pices in the box? And inside the valve-body one plastic piece blocked a chanel!
Cleaned the valve-body and put it together, now it goes forward but no reverse?
What can it be? Where is the plastic from?
I got code shift fork stuck!
Can it be one sensor on one shiftfork? They are glued plastic on the getrag 470! Might be the same on the 450?

Are you sure that previous warranty work is not covered. One of the avensis I owned had lots of warranty work done and all the parts were guaranteed for 12 months. You should contact ford directly to find out

Agreed with taxi. Go direct to ask Ford, and don't tell them you've opened the unit up.

Any fault with the mechatronic unit and it needs replacing. They are £1000 for a recon one or £1700 new from ford. I know as I had my car for 6 weeks and it came up transmission limited function so it's being changed under warranty. You can't buy replacement parts for them. Mine only had a speed sensor fault. I replaced my dad's focus one for £13. If you've only had the car 3 months you should be covered by trading laws as it wasn't for for sale

I have contact Ford but no help there, i have also sent them an email waiting for some response from them!
I bought the car private and there are no warranties if you buy private here in Sweden!

No warranty for private sales in the UK either.
Does the car have a full Ford service history and has it had its Powershift oil changes as needed? If so no reason why parts shouldn't be guaranteed. Sounds like they're trying to wriggle out of it.

Blimey. There should be no way that Ford can deny responsibility for this. It just shouldn't happen in a less than 1 year old part.
It's not like you've driven it like Michael Schumacher, or live in a tropical climate. Disgusting quality of parts in my opinion.
If fird don't fix this for you they want fcuking.
