There are a number of Ford SYNC apps available, but the availability does depend on what country you live. We'll try to keep this list updated as best we can, but if you've come across one that isn't listed below, please let us know so we can update it.
911 Assist (USA Only)
In the event of an accident in which an airbag deploys or, in certain vehicles, the fuel pump shutoff is activated, 911 Assist with GPS uses a properly paired and connected mobile phone inside the vehicle to assist occupants to call a 911 operator and gives emergency responders your exact location. The call goes directly through your cell phone without the need for intermediary assistance. It opens the SYNC® microphone to allow those inside the car to communicate hands-free with the 911 operator. The call can be cancelled by pressing and holding the steering wheel-mounted phone button or by confirming the cancellation message.
Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance (Europe Only)
Triggered by an airbag activating or the fuel pump being cut off, Ford SYNC Emergency Assistance uses your mobile phone to contact the Emergency Services directly. (There’s no third party call centre to slow things down.) It gives them crucial information, such as your GPS coordinates, and then enables you to talk to them yourself. If you have an accident abroad, Emergency Assistance is particularly clever. Thanks to its unique linguistic capabilities, it can talk to you in your chosen language, but speak to the Emergency Services in their local language. This extra peace of mind is free for the lifetime of your vehicle.
