The US is already on what is being branded as SYNC 2.

Perhaps we will finally be able to update ourselves via USB with the MK3.5 Focus, new Mondeo (Fusion) etc?

I certainly hope so, Sync is mediocre at best. Hopefully Sync 2 will improve the feature somewhat.

Anyone had any joy with this? Doesn't like UK VINs that's for sure.

I did read on Ford UKs website, under the sync info that they seem to acknowledge future updates and that we can do them ourselves.

Having checked on the Ford UK site that there was a Sync 3 update for my 2016 Mondeo Mk5, I meticulously followed the instructions as quoted in the link above  to load the unzipped software on to a reformatted exFAT USB stick. So far so good, unfortunately the car apparently does not see it as an update, so will not load it from the stick. Rang the dealer, who said "No, we cant download them either, by stick or wifi."!!!

Has anyone in the UK, or even Europe, managed this yet?

Just picked this link up from the FocusSTOC forum.

Don't know whether it may be of any interest/help to you SYNC3 guys. You may already know it.

Issue F7 SD card is now out for SYNC2 so, map wise, I guess SYNC3 current maps are well out of date.

I have the feeling Ford will not upgrade maps any further for "historic" SYNC2
