Car went in to Bridgend Ford today.
Phonecall 2 hours later telling me it's going to be another £200.
Apparently in the price they gave me they didn't include any gaskets or bolts.

So they want to charge £200 for "bolts and gaskets". I'd tell them to jog on!

£156+vat.
Works out at £667

Went to a few local dealers who want £900+ and a few independents and the guy I use to do most of the work on my cars and nobody will touch the belt in oil.

How did the TB/Aux/Drive B change go? Did Ford say anything about the condition of any parts or change anything extra?

Mine is booked in on Weds.

Any chance of getting this pinned? Lots of people repeatedly asking for timing belt advice here!

Slightly confused. I had my cambelt changed with the auxiliary at 100k for peace of mind by ford at a cost of £400.

I am now on 110k and fast approaching 125k. What will I require to change? Fuel pump belt or chain.

You will need the fuel pump drive belt replaced.

During this procedure the cambelt will need to be removed so I would advice you get it replaced again.

I can't believe the ford dealer didn't let you know!

Brilliant that was an expensive auxiliary belt change then. I might go and have a chat with them and say that I'm not happy with the service. Don't know if I have a leg to stand on tho.

Yup just checked no mention of any fuel pump belt just the drive and cam. As per pic

I wouldn't have expected the fuel pump belt to be including for £400!

Mine ended up being £627 with discount. Should have been closer to £700!

Ok so I went to ford today. To question why they hadn't informed me of this belt. They replied by saying that it doesn't exist. After a chat they were adamant that there was no other belts or chains to be done at 125k other than that what was completed (auxiliary and cambelt). I then let it go.

I then made a phone call to a different ford garage. I asked them to clarify what was required at the 125k service. No mention of the fuel pump belt so I decide to mention it. He disappears for 10 mins. He then says he has spoken to the service team and there is a fuel pump chain on my car that does not require changing for the life of the vehicle.

Both were given my reg number.

My car says built November 2007 and apparently has a chain.

Any thoughts

The rule of thumb is all cars after Sept 2007 have a Belt.

When I booked mine in I phoned up and told them exactly what I needed replacing.

Ford even so to replace the Chain every 125k so for them to say it does not need changing is a load of bollucks!
