Rammer, which side did u block off, might have another crack! How did u block it?

Unfortunately i do not think Rammers fix will work for you. Without any vacuum reaching the controls, the valves that control direction default back to demist. A nice failsafe feature ford built into the system. Not sure what servo the garage is on about, on mine the pipe comes straight off the manifold. If i was you i might be tempted to just get hold of a length of similar vacuum pipe and run that up to your controls bypassing the problem bit altogether.

R reg 1997 Mondeo 2.0lt Ghia 4 Door Saloon Auto. No mods. Gearbox from a later black topped engined car successfully transplanted in place of my original box. (I have a copy of the CD4E service manual - if you need anything, let me know).

Hi All

Just seen this bit slow here on my behalf , With no vacuum it is a different story as you say,
I looked in the engine compartment and my pipe comes from the airfilter box, into a T piece, one goes to the blower box R/H side of car, would be near your clutch, (mines a LHD) I took this off the blower and had a vacuum, not sure where the pther pipe goes to, That is probaly why mine works but with no vacuum, not sure where you go from here, you can try reading idiots guide to aircon first item on the aircon /heating forum, it will be interesting to find out the outcome keep us up to date

most people's experiences are very different...

i recently heard "the code was saying the car wanted some £20 injector cleaner" i'd like to know what code that is...

Last time I rang these people they qoted 200 quid for a 2 track rod ends to be fitted,

and would have to leave it there all day, Bought them myself 7 quid each shipped over 12 quid and fitted them 3 hours plus 2 mugs of tea. Where do they get these prices from
