Well... Was adjusting the handbrake cables on my mondy
last week and needed to push the centre exhaust box to the side to gain access to the adjuster nut that lives above it. Done the job all OK but when I looked down to the front end of the car I noticed that something was not quite right around the flexi joint area, on closer inspection the flexi part had come adrift from the front tube part and was free to move back and forwards! I guess the bit of pipe after the fixing flange goes well inside the braided flexi part as it did not fall apart! Looked like it would be an easy job! Bit of pipe (flexi ) about 14" long with a couple of bolts on each flange!! But upon even closer inspection The bolt heads just looked like rusty round rivets! So threw the towel in and phoned my trusty garage for all things I can't/don't wanna do. Two days later ( yesterday) I go and collect and boss tell me his man had a nightmare of a time with 1 hour plus getting of old section using every tool in the box including 'hot spanners' (oxyacetylene) so £90 later ( I know flexi can be got for about £40-50 inc gaskets &bolts) job done without loosing and skin on my part and making the air blue!
