Thanyou 4x4 16v what i might do is pop into:ph34r: st drivers and ask the iluminate of the motoring world:lol: what the general consensus is ps would love a set of them recaro seats out of a st 220 preferably in black or dolphin grey,maybe the crazy infra red,but i think they are only heated,my ghiax has heated&cooled leather/alcantara "for now"

is the st220 v6 a fast car? i think they look popper sh1t hot and id love 1, what are the like to drive?

They ride alot harder and sit lower so they are the best handling out of all mondeos 0-60 in 7 seconds is quick and i find it deceptive being a large car,lovely comfy cruisers,if you drive one you will want one,cant fault them i think there great end.....

Black 55 3.0ghiax,ss straight thru;57i,cf mirrors,black hekos&indis,lthr&alcan seats st lip.

I blew away a Honda Integra the other night in my ST220. Heard his loud chavvy exhaust wind up and I just hooked third, gave it some jandal and phuck yeah! Hooked fourth and its pulling past the Honda, past the turbo Skyline and nearly into the back of the rice burner AE101 Toyota Corolla GT. Everyone took notice of the "slow" Mondeo then

Proud owner of a 2005 Mondeo ST220. Big upgrade from the tired old 1997 ST24, which went out in a blaze of glory fighting off Hondas and BMWs

 

If its got tits or tyres, it'll give you trouble......

Vacum lines from the pcv valve, the idlespeed regulator, massive build up of carbon in the upper and lower inlet manifolds, and clogged cats...

Thats the most common problems i have experienced with the V6.. 

These things often cause rough idle and increased fuel consumption.

I had my previous 2.5L v6 mk3 for 12 years and the only issue I ever had with it was in the later years the idle air control valve would caused 'moosing' every 3-6 months , it took about 2 mins to take off then I'd spray it up with carb cleaner a few times then Ince dry refit and I'd be good for another few months.

 

That car got ragged stupid the full 12 years and it was super reliable and indestructible.

I literally drove it like it was stolen everywhere I went, it only got retired because it was battered inside and out and I was embarrassed to be seen in it anymore,  the engine was still like the day I bought it.

 

I loved that car so much I scoured the land for another identical spec mk3 and plan on keeping this one as long as possible and as it's a 69,700 mile car it's got some life in it yet :)

 

These motors can take abuse on biblical proportions!
