So, in the process of replacing a drop link on the car yesterday for the MoT, as I was in quite a hurry to get it all buttoned up and down to the test station to get my certificate before they closed, it looks like I left the locking wheel nut key on the lock nut on the front wheel (I left it on there while I did a quick check that I'd torqued up the nuts on the rear wheel properly after having had to get a new tyre on it)
Anyway, suffice to say, it was only today that it dawned on me that I'd forgotten to take it off the wheel nut and put it back in the car.
It's not in the car where I normally keep it and it's not in my tool box either.
I've even walked the route all the way to the tests centre looking for it, in case it came off somewhere along the way, but it's nowhere to be found.
So my question is, will a Ford dealer be able to provide me with a correct replacement from my registration or Vin number, or am I going to have to buy a new set of locking wheel nuts and find some way to get the existing ones off of the car?
