Hi,

Just bought a Ford S-Max from 2017 (150HK, powershift) and are now looking for new rims and tires for the winter season.

I wonder what size of tires can work on the car ?

I´ve been told that it must be 235/55 R17, but as far as I can see it´s most common to use 16" tires for the winter season.

Any ideas or good websites to visit ?

Thanks a lot

BR

Thank you Master-of-none!

I found the list in the manual but was in doubt if those are the only ones usable for the car.

Do you know if it´s OK to use 16" wheels as long as there is enough space for the caliper?

Any safety conditions to be aware of if not using the listed sizes ?

No factory option for 16" wheels. I dont have the PCD, bore and offset for the newer S-Max

to compare.

Most common to use 16" because they are usually cheaper.

Trip to the scrapyard assuming you have any open near you and an afternoon

checking what wheels may fit?

The shape of the wheel will also vary so one 16" may fit where many others may not.
