Due to some enforced time sitting at home I've decided to get busy with fixing the last few niggles on the car, namely the headrest monitor power supply to the dvd player under the drivers seat
I've searched high and low but haven't been able to find anything that explains how to power up the unit
There are various plugs and things in the back of the dvd player and I can't post a pic from my phone as they are too big, but all I need are the pin outs
Unless someone perhaps has the actual power look that I need for plug and play...
I have a couple of spare units that I can use for testing before I commit so if anyone can point me in the right direction then that would be great
after many hours searching i've found this, but i can make head nor tail of any actual outputs other than the speakers, and if i do use them how do i get them wo work with the rear speakers?
sorry, i should have posted the image of the unit i need to plug into
but i'm not sure if it's expecting some sound and video to come out or what as i can't see how this connects to the other box o tricks that sits above it that goes to the screens
Mate if you wait till tomorrow I can take some photos of my player to show where wires are??? Probably of no help but can do it if you want,,,, also many moons ago I changed my Denso satnav to my aftermarket stereo (it was broken and L11XXY (Alex) fixed it ????????),, I did wire the player to work without the Denso it’s was only 3 wires and they were in the console (gearstick drivers side) think it was permanently live, ignition live and ground. But mine was fitted from the factory so don’t know if that has some bearing on wiring??

Sorry pal ended up having to go get 2 tyres for the rear as the passenger side was flat,,,, guessing leaking bead but I had to put air in every month ????????,, but it was flat flat so I ended up taking it get replaced with with a new one and thought I best get 2. So 2 Falken ziex ze310 for £145
Right mate as promised a couple of pics of the wiring.
This pic is the wiring coming from the carpet,, to the 2 black connectors
This one is the wiring coming from the connectors to the box above where the player sits,, think the grey wires are for the monitors.
This one is the player which comes from the back of the box where the blue plug goes in. Looks like power to the box above then it powers the player.
This one is the cable from the box above.
Hope these help a little can get you more next week when I take the seat out completely to fit my heating pads.
I'm sure the blue plug on the grey cables is something to do with the mains power to the screens and the box and player as I forgot to plug this in ages ago and I had nothing until I found I'd forgotten to plug it in,,, you need the dvd player remote control to turn on the player I think as you have to point it at the screen to turn it on. Not sure if pressing the power on the dvd player actually turns it on I'm sure I have to use the remote
I seem to remember with all harnesses connected to DVD player, attached control box, Monitors and Access panel at rear of centre console. There were just 2 cables that went towards front of car, one possibly an Earth point the second a positive feed that may have come from the rear of the Denso headunit.
Actual power up and operation can then be instigated via the remote control.
Harness plugs into back of units like this photo. The spare black connector connects with grey cable coming from side of box. This connects to controls at back of armrest and up through seat backs to monitors.
Hi, I'm solving a similar problem. I already have the whole set and I have 3 cables left to connect. Two orange-green and one black-red. The thinner orange-green comes from the DVD module and the other two thicker ones come from the player. Can anyone advise me which cable to connect to which source? Thank you.
i've literally just come back in from refitting the seat
had you asked 2 days ago the car was in bits as i had to do some stuff
the good news is that the dvd player is now working, well, the screens are, you have to point the remote to the screens and i was pointing it to the dvd player
tomorrow i'm going to find a dvd to play so i might have another little poke around for the wires you mention, but i think they are the ones that go to the head unit to power everything up
The black-red one should be grounded and the rest for the power supply. I tried it now, but without results. I tried to put black-red on the holder around the battery and the rest on the + battery in the car, but apparently that's not the way :-D
