Good morning all

I got a letter from Ford on Saturday regarding a radiator hosepipe recall. Apparently the temperature gets too high and the pipe starts to fall apart.

Anyone else had this?

Also there was mention of a software update...any idea what that's about?

Also I put the chasis number into ETIS on Saturday and the repair appeared there but now today it isn't showing

Had mine serviced a few weeks ago and the recall action was done at the same time.

It's a hose from the turbo to the radiator expansion tank, which also has a 'Y' piece part way along.  A smaller hose leads from the 'Y' to the left* side of the engine.

The smaller hose appears to have gained some outer supporting tube to make sections more rigid.

There was no mention of software update but the BCM 'up time' was reset, whether it was due to an update or just battery disconnected during servicing or the recall fix - who knows?

Fuel economy seems to have improved, maybe it's just new plugs etc..

No doubt as a result of the member (on here) who had had two engines blow up at 30 k miles each.

I asked about this at my last service (Xmas '14) but Gates hadn't "heard" about the problem.

I got the same recall letter about the DEGAS Hose and a software update.  I booked the car in to get the work done at a ford garage on the 29/05/15.  The work only took an hour.

I have just checked the ETIS (02/06/15) and it showing that the recall work is still outstanding and the last time the software was updated was last year when the car was serviced.

How long does it take the for the ETIS to be updated?

Took the car in today and they said that the work isn't required in my car (Oct 2012 first registered) after checking it.

Strange indeed.

Mine was recalled last week.  Booked in for last Friday and in it went.  Picked it up at the end of the day.... no action taken as the replacement part hadn't arrived.  Massive waste of time!!
