This is a feature I've wanted since I've had the car. I live on a fairly narrow but busy street and always forget to fold my mirrors in.
Later Mondeos automatically folded the mirrors in when the car is locked.
For this mod to work you must have powerfold mirrors in the first place.

Parts needed:

Door Control Module with part number 9G9T 14B553 AC.
The above module was later replaced by 9G9T 14B533 EC.
I bought the latter from Ford Parts UK for £76.

Tools:

Interior trim removal tools for prising fittings apart without damage,
Torx 15 and Torx 25,
Pz2 driver,
7mm Socket and rachet.

How to:

1) Prise out the electric window control panel. Prise it out from the mirror control end.

2)Prise out the corner panel that houses the tweeter.

3)Prise out the door pull trim and undo the two T25 screws behind it.

4) Prise out the small blanking plate in the door handle surround and undo T15 screw.

5) 'Wangle' out the door handle surround.

6) Undo the screws around the edge of the door card with a PZ2 driver. Lift the door card upwards and remove from car.

7)Unplug door control module and remove 3x 7mm bolts holding it in place.

8) Replace control module with updated version using threadlock on the bolts to stop them rattling free in the future.

Before you put the door card back on, plug in the new control module and temporarily plug in the electric window control panel and make sure they fold in when you lock the car.

(excuse the video being the wrong way up)

Putting it all back together is 100% Reverse of removal.

They are correct. You can see the part number on the first picture I posted of the module itself.

I tried to order 9G9T 14B553 AC to be told it has been replaced by the 9G9T 14B533 EC.

So you only need to replace the one module for both mirrors to fold? Sure I'd read somewhere else about replacing all four modules but I may be mistaken!

I think someone in Denmark seemed to believe they all had be changed but obviously not, I may be able to dig out the post as I had some PM with him on another matter.

I think in that post he mentioned that they both fold if only the drivers module is replaced, but that one folds at a different speed to the other one. When I did mine, this did indeed happen, so I replaced both drivers and passengers, and they fold at the same speed. No need to replace rear ones though
