can anyone confirm that tdci injector pumps dont need to be recoded to the ecu unlike tddi's? im sure the main dealer mechanic said that if i changed the tdci pump i wouldnt need to code/program it to the ecu for the immobiliser as that was only for tddi's. anyone change a tdci pump and got it working fine with no programming?

going back to my old td i had a reconditioned pump. the end numbers were different but the supplier assured me it would fit and work so i can only assume that the numbers are revision numbers and perhaps have slight changes inside. i remember also that being a reconditioned unit the electronic system was blank and it coded itself when it was put on the car.

The TDCI pump doesn't need coded as it is mechanical. I had mines changed a month ago and it wasn't coded in to the car.

i think the 2s7q is to do with the age similar to part numbers for a gem the early gems started with something like 1s7t then you had 2s7t then 3s7t the patern seems to be the same with fuel pump numbers you got there. the 2 numbered one will be mid facelift and the number 3 one will be final facelift.

that makes sense, in the haynes manual it says when the pump fails and eats itself up to fit a later pump with revised insides.
